Nosework: Lost Item Recovery Program (In-Person) - Starting 10/24/24 at 7:15 PM

All sessions of this six-week series will be held in-person at HSSV. This class is for dogs that are able to work in close proximity to other dogs and people (while still maintaining social distance). Not suitable for dog-aggressive or people-aggressive dogs, including leash reactivity. Please note that only two handlers per dog are allowed. This class is sometimes held outdoors, in the dog sports yard. In case of inclement weather, including rain or excessive heat, class may be postponed. Any skipped class dates will be added to the end of the course, on the same day and time as the regular class time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lost Item Recovery class teaches canine and handler teams how to use their dog's ability to smell to find everyday personal items that may be lost.  The course focuses on the recovery of lost items, testing the dog’s ability to discriminate handler scent.  Never lose your socks, keys or wallet ever again!

For North American Sports Dog Association (NASDA) Enthusiasts, the course focuses on preparing teams to participate in Level 1 Lost Item searches.  The instructor competes regularly in NASDA sanctioned events.  Her current dog finished 2022 as the 16th Lost Item Recovery I dog in NASDA, qualifying and going to the 2023 NASDA Invitational. They are now preparing for Master Grand Champion.
