Top Dogs Level 1 (Online Only) - Starting 05/22/24 at 6:15 PM

This class is for dogs with reactivity towards other dogs or people. This class does not directly address aggressive behaviors. Please note: if your dog does have a bite history, contact the dog training department for further evaluation and guidance.

-------------------------------------------

All sessions in this six-week series will be held online, meeting weekly on Zoom and supported through Teachable, an exciting online/interactive module. Please note that the first session of this class is 1.5 hours long and will be starting at 5:45pm. The remaining 5 sessions are 50 minutes and will start at 6:15pm.

-------------------------------------------

Join us in a virtual classroom! All you need is a way to shoot videos (your phone!) and access to the internet. Your videos WILL NOT BE public unless you want them to be, but your teacher will be able to coach you on the exercises.

This 6-week course will give you and your reactive dog the skills necessary to navigate the everyday environment with reduced stress. With an emphasis on management, skills taught will include:

  1. Impulse control
  2. Threshold management
  3. Coping skills
  4. Emergency exits

And much more.

We recommend you have the below items by the first session:

  1. Clicker
  2. Standard leash
    1. No retractables!
    2. Nylon, leather, cotton, biothane or other non-chain material
    3. We recommend a flat leash in 1/2", 5/8", or 3/4" width
  3. Dog treats, kibble, or small objects such as candy, dried beans, etc.
  4. A cup or small bowl

This class is one of the prerequisites for our in-person Level 2 course, which will build upon the skills learned here to work toward a more confident and calm dog.
